Street Fighting - Interview with Christopher "Bob" Roberts - 4 Reasons for Situational Awareness

Charles from

: Many people don't realize that they need situational awareness no matter what kind of training they have. First, to put it simply, tell us what situational awareness is and give four reasons why it is important.

: Situational awareness basically means that you have seen a battle before it started, or you have seen the threat before it started. Therefore, this is obviously crucial, because people often lose their losses before they start, because they may not know that they are in combat and they did not see the upcoming strike at the end of the first strike.

Charles from

: Wow! So, now give us four reasons why situational awareness is so important.

short hair from

 : it is good -

The first point of situational awareness is to avoid fighting from

 - The best way to survive an ambush is to see it coming soon and avoid it. So, if your situation is aware, you should be able to avoid most of the battles and most of the attacks you would have participated in.

Charles from

 : Ok.

 :and -

The second point is that if you can't avoid ambush, if you can't avoid the fight, at least you can prepare yourself. from

 - So you can raise your hand. You can know what to do before the attack starts, not directly into the attack and stupid.

Charles from

 : Wow. The third.

short hair from

 :of course -

The third point is - most weapon attacks, especially most knife attacks are successful, because you have never seen a knife from

 - Again, if your situation is aware, you can notice if someone is pulling a weapon. You can notice that someone has a weapon. I hope you can take him out before you can use it on you instead of being stabbed by a knife you can't even see.

Charles from

 :very beautiful.

The fourth point is - when you are in combat, you tend to have a tunnel view - you tend to see what is in front of you at 20o instead of 180o from

 - If you use your situational awareness correctly, you will know how many people around you and where they are, instead of just focusing on the people in front of you and completely forgetting that there are other people around you who may have to worry about it. Therefore, situational awareness means that you must focus on other potential attackers after you take the attacker out.

Charles from

: Excellent. This is a great interview. Bob, thank you again.

short hair from

 : Thank you.
