As a predictive art and metaphysical science, feng shui has existed for thousands of years. But in order to get feng shui out of "only anyone's hand", the ancient masters wrote their reference materials. Moreover, as these references begin to be translated, translations are not always pure and are often influenced by cultural superstitions rather than actual feng shui science. Today, popular Western writers have caused greater damage by inventing a whole new set of interpretations.
Many times, after consulting with another feng shui practitioner, the customer will call me because they want to know why they didn't see the result - or worse, they will see new problems. Sometimes I am surprised by some of the crazy advice they receive. A client recently told me that she was told to put a sealed water bottle in her home and in the closet as a treatment. Now, in order to use water, it must be open to the elements. These bottles are sealed! No wonder the customer didn't see any improvement! When she tried to contact a Feng Shui consultant, her voicemail was not answered.
Always question why you are required to implement a specific recommendation. If the answer doesn't make sense to you, then don't do it!
Now, through the phone I recently received, I want to share a clear example of these five feng shui frauds:
1. The image of a fish or real fish brings prosperity. false. Fish is just a symbol of prosperity. The water they swim in actually helps attract wealth. This is a common myth because they are related to wealth, so some fish are known to be sold for thousands of dollars. Therefore, not the fish itself brings wealth, but the fact that they move water. Moving water - placed in the right position - can actually attract money for luck. But whether you use fish or a pump to circulate water, it will be attractive! For the same reason, the picture of the fish will not bring money luck.
2. Keep the toilet lid down, otherwise you will "flush" your wealth. false. This is not only a fake, but also so stupid, and one of the most annoying new age myths. In fact, some books even say that you should wrap your drain with red tape to prevent the wealth from being washed away. Honestly! Visit any of the mansions and you'll find plenty of bathrooms - the rich are kept rich without red tape. Therefore, although there are many good reasons [such as bacterial control] to keep the toilet lid, protecting your wealth is not one of them!
3. Pairing items in pairs will bring romantic good luck to single women. false. I have entered many families, and women are willing to find a husband, even if everything - I mean everything - is also in pairs at home. When I asked why, I often heard them read this idea in Feng Shui, or get advice from a consultant from the New Age. In fact, putting things in pairs is nothing more than superstition. Bringing romantic luck is to activate the right energy in the right area for your specific energetic makeup.
Paint your front door black to get professional luck. false. The One New Age e-magazine recently recommended that the front door be painted black to get professional luck. The reason is that according to Feng Shui Black Hat School, the center of your home is the occupational department, which belongs to the water element related to black. This is a very, very dangerous simplification. In fact, because different people have different energy patterns, assuming that the center of your home is "professional", 99% of the time is incorrect. Also, black and blue colors can be very harmful if not used properly at home.
Hang or place a room full of positive energy. false. Unlike real crystals, commonly used glass crystals have little ability to change the energy content of a room. The good news is that they may not cause harm, but they will not activate positive energy. So if you like them, hang them, but don't expect your luck to change!
The ingenious mass marketing of Feng Shui creates everything in Feng Shui: candles, jewelry, fashion, perfume... Although these may support the concept of balance and positive reinforcement, these items are not actual remedies for the family. Authentic classical feng shui is about controlling the actual energy patterns in the environment to improve any particular situation and extreme quality of life. Bottom line: If you want real change, you need real feng shui.
