Learn about cardboard packaging terms

Litho Print packaging
Litho printing, also known as lithographic or offset Litho, works by mixing oil and water. This type of printing provides high-end finishes for your carton and carton - a process that is ideal for boxes with fine graphics that are needed to enhance your product on retail shelves.

Corrugated cardboard laminated carton or box
Litho laminates and cartons provide protection and visual impact for your products; full lithographic printing with CMYK spot colors provides superior print quality. These processes print your custom artwork directly onto premium paper, create photo quality images, and then laminate them onto any strength cardboard package.

Flexographic printing package
Flexo printing, also known as flexo printing, uses a wider range of monochromatic biodegradable inks to match your pantone reference. Each color is printed directly on corrugated paper. Because Flexo print cartridges can be produced at a faster rate, these cartons tend to be more cost effective and have smaller size limitations than their lithographic counter components.

Super Flexo printing and packaging
Super Flexo or terminology: HQPP - High quality post-printing - is the next generation of affordable premium prints using the latest Digi-core Plate technology. The process produces high quality prints at competitive prices. Super Flexo printed packaging is suitable for anyone in the point of sale [POS] display packaging industry.

FBB Carton - Folding Box
Folding box board [FBB] is a carton that includes a layer of mechanical pulp sandwiched between layers of bleached quality paperboard. This makes the cardboard very durable. These cartons are ideal for the food/pharmaceutical/perfume and confectionery industries. Folding box panels have excellent embossing and sag potential; plus good strength properties make this type of carton ideal for packaging your premium or luxury items.

Solid board member
The rugged inner panel is ideal for lighter weighted products, product protection is not required, but display is critical. These types of cartons are ideal for products that need to be customer-facing and show what really matters.

Shipper Outers
The shipper is a cardboard transport box or an external container. They are used to package and/or protect one or more items for delivery. All boxes can be measured in a variety of combinations of corrugated flutes and paper grades, depending on your requirements. Cardboard outers can print important processing information such as: fragile or notification in this way. Your barcode, package weight, return address or just your company's logo can also be added to these to provide a professional and cost-effective brand or company image for your product packaging.
