Finding ways to treat hair loss can make you rich. This is one of the reasons why scientists and medical researchers are constantly proposing new research related to hair loss. Many of them never turned it into a product: some later found that they didn't work at all, while others were not easy to sell, while others never went through official procedures to get FDA-approved products.
However, some of these substances may indeed be effective.
Everyone already knows three bestsellers: finasteride, minoxidil and Nizoral. But what are the more exotic things, those that are advertised in medical journals rather than in the mainstream media? This is three local hair loss therapies you may have never heard of:
Chinese hibiscus
India traditionally uses plant flowers to help baldness. The sad truth is that most traditional therapies are powerless. However, a topical application of Chinese hibiscus was found in a study that helped mice grow their hair. One important finding is that flowers are not the most effective part of the plant - it is the leaves.
2. 5-aminolevulinic acid and iron
Iron is well known, but what about 5-aminolevulinic acid? It is a substance found in almost all organisms. It is used for plant growth and photodynamic therapy. Apparently, the application mixture locally improved hair growth in mice by up to 5% of minoxidil.
3. Asiasari cardinality
In one study, extracts from the roots of Asiasarum radix were the best hair loss treatments in 45 different plant extracts. The extract stimulates hair growth in mouse and human skin cells. This effect was observed without any inhibition of 5-alpha reductase type 2, which is thought to play an important role in hair loss.
