11 tips for stripping wallpaper: How to get rid of ugly wallpapers!

I broke my promise to myself and stripped the wallpaper again. The only reason I did this was a $100,000 profit. My family and I don't have time to wait for professional help. We sold our investment property before we completed our work and needed the home to be ready for evaluation.

While peeling off the wallpaper, I realized that many housewives made wrong suggestions for this terrible task. After years of experience in more than 30 homes, I have provided the best advice I have tried:

1. Use a steamer or rent a professional steamer

2. Soak a large wall

3. Run the "Paper Tiger" scoring tool on the damper section

4. Steam part again

5. Spray part with fabric softener and hot water

6. Use the paper tiger again to score

7. Steam again

8. Remove any curling [sometimes large area peeling off]

9. Scratch with a six-inch sheetrock blade

10. Repeat the above steps on this section until most of them are easy to scrape off

11. Scrub the surface with hot water, TSP and sponge

Note: Use Paper Tiger carefully to avoid scratching or wall cutting. Use harsh chemical TSP gloves.

Don't live with ugly wallpapers anymore!
