What can you really learn from martial arts books?

So you are thinking about starting training and wondering if you can buy some martial arts books and learn from them? Unfortunately, the short answer is not the case. Although you can learn some skills and exercises, martial arts training requires a manual coach to give you feedback to ensure that you perform these techniques correctly to avoid injury.

Martial arts books are definitely not a waste of money. When combined with the course, they can help you supplement your training. Here are some of my favorite books, I will recommend those who are currently trained to master and read:

Jeet Kune's Road by Bruce Lee from

 - A collection of thoughts and graffiti of the late Bruce Lee composed of his legacy and best friends. Jeet Kune Do literally means "the way to intercept a fist." This is a book of all the martial arts books I recommend. Bruce's philosophy and emphasis on non-classical methods can really help you look at training in different ways. Jeet Kune Do covers all the art, because it is a style without style, and encourages students to create their own methods after learning a series of techniques, which is absolutely the founder of each form, and continue to formalize their method.

Scientific stretch [Fourth Edition] Author: Thomas Kurz M.Sc from

.- This book has the most effective stretching system I have ever seen. It explains why your current training method is likely to inhibit the development of flexibility and the content and timing of the exercise. But it is not perfect. Reading the explanation may be a bit complicated, but of course it is worth understanding the science behind the flexibility and the training methods behind the extension. Please note that you really need to stay healthy and lean before trying to stretch, because if you are not careful, you may hurt yourself. Read the entire book at least once, including answers to frequently asked questions to make sure you are fully familiar with these techniques before proceeding.

The explosive power and jumping ability of all sports by Dr. Tadeusz Starzynski and Dr. Henryk Sozanski [Translated by Tom Kurz] from

 - More training skills to inject your training, this time focus on the power development behind your strike, cuddle and headline indicating jumping ability. This book includes a complete explanation of how to develop explosive power and the science behind it. Again, sometimes it can be a bit difficult, but if you are not sure about something, please take the time to read the book and re-read it.

Martial arts books can be a good complement to training, but should not be the only source of teaching. When you have been training in martial arts for a while, you will begin to learn more about your body, and you will be able to objectively see the techniques you find in the book or video and understand how it works. If you can, grab these books and give them a good read.
